7 scientific lectures, 70 diploma theses, 3 thematic workshops and “good practices” in two days, give the mark of the research and educational activities of the Applied Mathematics Laboratory and the Program “Master’s in Mathematics (MSc)” of the HOU School of Science and Technology. The two-day conference will be held on February 8 and 9, 2020, at the HOU Branch in Athens, and will be open to the public. It includes scientific lectures and presentations on cutting-edge topics by professors and students of the “Master’s in Mathematics (MSc)” , as well as members of the Laboratory. Research results in subjects such as: Mathematical Analysis, Optimization, Stochastic Procedures, Geometry, Mathematical Modeling, History and Didactics of Mathematics are reflected in the content of the two-day conference. The physical presence and interaction between more than 30 professors from all Greek Universities, is an opportunity for fruitful scientific dialogue, new perspectives and collaborations. This unique effort of extroversion will be completed by three thematic workshops that will be conducted in the context of the training offered by the Library of the Hellenic Open University. Participating students will have the opportunity to develop skills in the use of personalized services of the distance library of HOU, in bibliographic sources management and in the writing of scientific papers. The two-day conference will be held at the Branch of the Hellenic Open University in Athens (Gravias 4-6, 10678), whereas the possibility of remote monitoring is also offered. More information can be found on the website of HOU: https://www.eap.gr and the Laboratory of Applied Mathematics http://e2m.eap.gr.

62 thesis presentations, 2 thematic workshops and 8 research presentations in two days, gave the mark of the research and educational activities of the Laboratory of Applied Mathematics and the Postgraduate Program of the School of Sciences and Technology of the Hellenic Open University.
The two-day conference, held on February 9 and 10, was open to the public and presented the main research areas of the program professors and the members of the Laboratory, in particular topics from functional analysis, spectral decomposition and the study of differential operators in non-trivial coordinate systems, fuzzy logic as well as wave propagation and scattering, mathematical modeling and problem solving of biomedical sciences, as well as the way they are reflected in the MSc and PhD theses of their postgraduate students in the Hellenic Open University.
This unique effort to promote and disseminate the produced research work, was completed in two 2-hour thematic workshops carried out in the framework of the training offered by the Library of the Hellenic Open University to students (not only HOU students) and relate to the management of bibliographic sources and scientific writing. works.
